The Craziest Job

What You Are Ignoring In Battlefield 3

 
A ton of my friends, including me, have played and enjoyed the video game Battlefield 3.  I play the game not really paying attention to the great detail the artists put into the game.  I found a video on Youtube that gives the video game the artwork justice it deserves.  It uses a great example of when you knife another player.  They put it into super slow motion and you feel different about knifing another player.  You almost feel sad like the "digital characters" are almost real people.  Check the link if you don't believe me.

Gangnam Style (Without the Style)

With the great popularity of the song (over 400,000,000 views to date) "GANGNAM STYLE" (강남스타일) by PSY, there have been tons of parodies of the music video.  Someone decided to do something a little different.  They decided to just take out all the music of the original video and just keep the natural sounds of everything.  The music video takes a strange awkward feeling to it that you have to see to experience.

The World In 2019

Video Copilot - After Effects Best Friend

 

This is probably the biggest help you can get with learning the program After Effects.  This site has all kinds of tutorials and examples to help you.  It even has a few free downloads for presets to add to After Effects.  Has a few design tips as well. I highly recommend this site.

Water Fountains

Since I have started this class and all of my other design class's, I have noticed many things that are pleasing to the eye yet, they aren't thought about.

While I was driving to class, I noticed some water fountains in a pond near the road.  I thought of how simple something like shooting water into the air could look so good.  It's pretty neat what they are able to do today with water fountains.  They can change the way people feel depending on how the water is shot out.  Here's a few videos to show my point.

The Graphics Design class has really opened my eyes to the art all around me.  Many things go unnoticed by me every day.  Great things that people have put much time into.  I am starting to appreciate how things are designed and layered out. 

     Hi, my name is Alex Keeling.  This is my first blog ever in my entire life!  I am starting this blog because it is required for my Graphics Design class I am taking at Parkland College.  I have never really been interested in writing a blog but, who knows.  Something might click and I could be new crazy blogger.
     To talk about myself at Parkland, I am in my second year of college going for a Degree in Digital Media.  I am taking graphics design, 3d animation, 2d animation, and photography.  I don't move around much in college since all of my class's are only in 2 buildings.  I'm not complaining though.  I really like 3d animation.  I enjoy creating something that couldn't be possible in the real world.
     In Graphics Design, we are currently learning simple design principles from the book.  Hope to get in more advance stuff soon.  I think this class will greatly help me in my career in the future.
